NK Osijek is in talks with Porto over the transfer of young defender Ivan Kolarik, who helped the club in the fight for survival in HNL last season. Porto is showing concrete interest in the 19-year-old defender, who played minutes in HNL last season and helped Osijek in the fight for survival. According to Portuguese sources, Osijek is asking for around 1.5 million euros for Kolarik. Porto is trying to lower the price and find a more favorable agreement model, either through a lower fixed compensation, bonuses, or a different payment dynamics. Kolarik played 450 minutes in HNL for Osijek last season, a club where he passed through all youth categories. Although he is not yet a first-team player, he is a young defender who got a chance in the senior team in the final part of a tough season and showed potential. Porto's plan, according to Portuguese information, would be for Kolarik to initially play for the B team. In that team, some departures are expected, so the Croatian defender should get space to adapt to Portuguese football. If he imposes himself, he would stay in the club's system and gradually compete for a place in the first team. Interestingly, Kolarik would not be the only Croatian defender in Porto. The Portuguese giant already has Dominik Prpić, a former Hajduk defender who recently arrived at Dragão. The arrival of another young Croatian defender would confirm that Porto is seriously following the market of young defenders from Croatia. For Osijek, a potential transfer of Kolarik would be another outgoing deal at a time when the club is going through changes and preparing for the new season. The new coach and sports sector are forming a team that needs reinforcements, but Porto's interest in the young defender shows that there are still players in the youth sector who are interesting to the foreign market.
