NK Osijek has finished one of the most turbulent seasons that fans remember, and after it, it's time for a complete turnaround on all levels. The collaboration with coach Tomislav Radotić did not continue, and Federico Bessone will take his place. Bessone is a 42-year-old Argentine whose last engagement was in the Slovenian Olimpija. As a player, he went through Barcelona C, Swansea, Leeds, Charlton, and Oldham, and ended his career in 2021 in Andorra. He has already confirmed the news about his new job in an interview with the Andorran public service RTVA: 'In the next few hours, it will be official, but I'm going to Osijek, to Croatia. This is a great team. It's true that they haven't achieved their goal in the last two seasons, but they are one of the four teams in the league that have never been relegated to a lower rank and have a very exciting project. They want to work with young players, have new facilities and a new stadium.' Bessone is expected to be officially presented as the new coach of Osijek at any moment. Then, the composition of his professional staff will be known, which may include his former associates from Ljubljana. Meanwhile, the rest period is ending at the Opus Arena, and the new coach is expected to lead the team for the first time on Tuesday, a team that needs additional reinforcements. The new sports director, Kenneth Zandvliet, is in charge of that part of the job. Bessone has won two championships and one Super Cup in Andorra, and has enough experience to lead NK Osijek to success. Osijek fans can be optimistic about the new season, as Bessone has shown that he can work with young players and achieve good results. Now it will be interesting to see how Bessone will cope in the HNL and how he will lead NK Osijek in the next season.
