NK Osijek has denied rumors of the club's sale, president Alexandra Vegh confirmed that the club is not for sale. In the club's official statement, Vegh stated that there is no sale. The club has not conducted, nor is it conducting negotiations for the sale, nor has it been in contact with individuals or entities mentioned in these writings. Our full focus is exclusively on the future of NK Osijek, the completion of the five-year development strategy of the Club, strengthening the sports and organizational structure and preparing all key projects that follow. We recall that one of the stories that appeared in the media was that NK Osijek could be bought by Turkish businessman Yüksel Yıldırım. Alexandra Vegh succeeded former president Ferenc Sakalj, and members of the Board Vladimir Čohar and Valentina Koprivnjak were also replaced. Sakalj, Čohar, and Koprivnjak were a thorn in the side of Osijek fans due to their way of doing business. Also, sports director Alen Petrović was replaced. It was speculated that the club could be at a crossroads after Viktor Orban lost the elections in Hungary last month, and was succeeded as prime minister by Peter Magyar. Orban is otherwise a great friend of the main sponsor and de facto owner of Osijek, Hungarian businessman Lorinc Meszaros. Due to this change in political power, many believed that Meszaros would be removed from the club, but the president denied these claims. Osijek will finish the HNL season in a disappointing ninth place in the league table. NK Osijek has undergone significant changes in key positions this season. Alexandra Vegh confirmed that the club is working on strengthening its sports and organizational structure. Osijek fans will now have to wait and see what will happen in the future. One thing is certain, NK Osijek will continue to fight for better results in the HNL.
