NK Osijek has officially confirmed the departure of Jakov Dedić to Hoffenheim. The young striker will play for the U-23 team.

How did the transfer happen?

The transfer of Jakov Dedić has been made official. The young striker, whose move was already known for weeks, will continue his career at Hoffenheim. NK Osijek has thus lost a great talent that it did not protect or did not know how to protect on time. For the young striker who impressed at the recent U-17 European Championship, where he scored a hat-trick against Spain, they will receive 850,000 euros in compensation plus bonuses.

What does this mean for NK Osijek?

Given that Dedić, who will celebrate his 17th birthday in a month and a half, was tied to the club with a stipend contract that was to expire next summer, his potential at Opus Arena could not be fully utilized. However, Dedić said goodbye to his teammates last week, passed medical tests at Hoffenheim, and has been an official member of the Bundesliga team since Monday. The German club confirmed the transfer, and Dedić will initially be assigned to the U-23 team.

Hoffenheim's comment

- Jakov is a great talent who, despite his youth, possesses excellent attributes, not just because of his impressive height. He is perfect for Hoffenheim. His attacking skills are already at an excellent level, athletic, dynamic and technically gifted striker who also has great potential for development. We are convinced that he will leave his mark with us - said Hoffenheim's sports director Frank Kramer. Currently, NK Osijek is in 9th place in the HNL, with 35 points, 8 wins, 11 draws and 17 losses, in the last 5 games they have 2 wins, 0 draws and 3 losses. The last result was a 2-0 win against NK Slaven Belupo, on May 22, 2026.
