NK Osijek has been through a very turbulent period, with the Slavonian club barely managing to stay in the HNL until the end of the season. Alexandra Vegh, the new president of the club, has made several important moves after the departure of president Ferenc Sakalj. Director Valentina Koprivnjak and sports director Alen Petrović have been dismissed. At the same time, many stories have emerged about a possible change in the ownership structure. Turkish businessman Yuksel Yildrim, who already owns three football clubs, has rejected the purchase of NK Osijek. Yildrim said he is not interested in buying the club. There is also another option, and that is Gabor Vegh, the father of the current president of Osijek. Vegh has extensive experience in football and was the owner of the Hungarian ZTE for ten years. The club was sold to Argentine investors, and then he turned to a new project - successfully stabilizing the Slovenian Nafta from Lendava. In response to all this, Osijek has issued a statement to the public. NK Osijek categorically rejects all inaccurate and unverified claims about the possible sale of the Club. The club has not conducted, nor is it conducting negotiations about the sale, nor has it been in contact with persons or entities mentioned in these writings. Our full focus is directed exclusively to the future of NK Osijek - the completion of the five-year development strategy of the Club, strengthening the sports and organizational structure, and preparing all key projects that follow. And also, it's worth mentioning that Viktor Orban lost the parliamentary elections after 16 years of rule, which has further contributed to the uncertainty about the future of the club. But now it's essential that the club focuses on its goals and prepares for new challenges. So what's next for NK Osijek, we'll just have to wait and see.
